Hello, I’m Rebecca Gray. I’m an artist based in the UK, working across paint, drawing and mixed media. My work centres on people: their presence, their expression, and the emotional residue that lingers in a moment. I’m drawn to faces, gestures and atmospheres, and much of my practice focuses on capturing the essence of someone rather than a strict likeness.
I’ve always been fascinated by people, the way light shifts across a face, how tension or softness sits in the shoulders, how a single glance can hold a story. Whether I’m sketching from observation, painting from reference, or creating more interpretive pieces, I’m looking for the feeling beneath the surface. The aim is not perfection, it’s connection.
